“Worship Demonstrated in Waiting for Your God”
Waiting is an experience common to all of us. “Hurry up and wait” is the joke we all have heard at some point. Waiting is worship requiring patience to highly value what we are waiting for.
I. Waiting In An Insecure World –
A. Our Faith in Jesus Christ will draw assaults from unbelievers if we make it known
1. God Himself is our salvation –
2. Jonah cried out to God from the belly of the great fish, “Salvation is of the Lord” –
B. Unbelief results in kind words about Christians that are insincere –
1. Godliness disappears in the fog of flattery –
2. For example, Islam and Mormonism say they believe in the Bible, but yet for them the truly prophetic word is in the Quran or the Book of Mormon. Is it not flattery to say they respect the Bible?
3. Secular liberals speak about freedom of religion yet insist on their “morality” by refusing to submit to the Word of God –
4. Daniel prophesies of government officials who will attempt to change God’s law and persecute Christians –
II. Command Your Soul to Wait Upon God –
A. Security only flows from looking to God expectantly for hope –
1.“Political correctness” does not lead to security
2. Pleasing people is only manipulation and will always fail
B. God Himself is a rock –
1. His work is perfect –
2. He delivers from all of His and our enemies –
3. Christ died and rose again and intercedes for us –
4. Wait on the Lord in faithful obedience –
C. Pour out your heart to God. Tell Him your fears and insecurities –
III. The Elites of This World Are a Deceit –
A. Where are the great political and business leaders and popular celebrities of this world?

1. They are gone and forgotten –
2. The elites always disappoint. They often rely on their powerful positions to provide. They make promises impossible to keep –
B. Do not trust in oppression and theft –
1. Will having pooled money into one purse provide?
2. You cannot build prosperity on envy –
3. You cannot gain justice through revenge
Wait on the Lord!!
